The casinos don’t want marijuana. Casino owners site many reasons why they don’t want smoking in the rooms. They insist on reasons why smoking would hurt tourism. The rooms would smell for days. The casinos couldn’t clean the rooms fast enough for non-smokers. Smokers would spend money on marijuana instead of spending money inside the casinos. Gambling revenues would be hurt by smokers. Smokers may not pay attention to the laws surrounding swimming pool parties, events, or protocol within the resorts. Nevada’s life blood is the gaming industry. Casinos have to adhere to Federal laws. These laws might not coexist with the freedom enjoyed by pot smokers, especially when marijuana is considered a controlled substance.
